OH, YEAH!!! We're Back!!!
Hello, everyone!!! Aeri's in the front here! Crysta's at the back. Crysta! How about you greet our lovely reader out there? (Yeah... Hey, guys! How's life? Bet it's sucks, huh?) [facepalmed] What kind of greeting is that? Are you in your brooding mood right now? If it's a yes, then I won't talk with you. You will just make this post gloomy like some haunted house! (Funny... And here I think we're already in some kind of hell.) Wha..? Are you alright? Do you hit your head somewhere? You are mumbling incoherent words. It's not a good sign, for me anyway. (Oh, please! Just let me be! Don't you have readers to entertain?) Oh, yeah. You are right.
So, as I promised in the last post that I will tell you about my adventure at an event held in my lovely not-so-small town. It's CEGACOM Fair '14. CEGACOM coming from Celebes Gaming Community. Celebes is like a huge island where I currently live at. That means The CEGACOM is like the one who made this event. I admit that was the first time I heard about them, considering I play console gaming since I started Junior High School and like to play in a gaming place near my school when I was still in Senior High. Well, I would hear about those kind of community if there's one since I was such a social butterfly, at that time. Now? Not really. (Yeah, only YOU who would go into gaming nest until 3 in the morning and get scolded by your teacher. For God sake, you are a GIRL. Have some subtle! You are pretty lucky that you were just punished to be a night watch that day and the teacher didn't tell your parents about it.) Oh, please, Crysta. Don't remind me about that. It was a really beautiful night. Hehe... Anyway, this community maybe still very "fresh out from the oven". And not to mention about my absent in almost all of the Pop-Culture thingy for amount of time. So, maybe they were established when I was away.
It's quite a feat, you know. When I heard about this event, I was like... "Oh, really?" and "That's so cool!"... I'm on the big rest that week actually, so you can say that I broke so much rules so I could go to that event. You see, I always want to go to a "Game Exhibition". Merely, because I like to play games in so many different consoles and enjoy watched the live streaming gaming event held abroad. This particular "event announcement" made me hope too much of them. The reality was actually really different from what I imagined what the exhibition would be. When I was saying that I'm not disappointed would be a really big lie. I do felt that.
Now, not take them in the bad way. I enjoyed the event anyway. It was held for 6 days long. Started from May 27th to June 1st. That was an accomplishment. There wasn't so many event held that long. So, one point for them.
The "ADVERTISEMENT" said that there will be:
1. Game Exhibition
2. Game Tournament, Cosplay & Dance Competition, and Photography Contest with a total prize of 60 million rupiahs
3. Many Local Communities
4. Many Guests
Let's review them one by one. And by "review", that's mean I need you here, Crysta! (Hey! I'm not going anywhere! I'm at your back the whole time!) Oh, good then. I don't realize... Honestly, your presence aura's really like a ghost. (It's not. You are the one who get distracted easily.) Yeah, yeah... Stay put there. I need your entry for all the things I will say about this event. (I'm listening. read: reading. Will you do the usual, then?) Yup, of course. It won't be a review if it isn't as detail as it can be [evil grin].

Start from the days, then. It's freakin' 6 days long. (If I need to come everyday, I would be bored to death.) You won't be if you were one of the participants. But, since I was just a passerby, it would be really a menace if I came every single day. And there were these entrance tickets, too. It's not too pricey, but it would be if I need to spent my money on them. (Don't forget about the location, too. It's a bit far from the town center, so you will need an extra effort to get there.) Yeah, you're right. The place was Celebes Convention Centre / CCC. It's a good place to hold any exhibition or expo because of its size. This place was designed so they could accommodate hundreds of people in one go. Almost every big expo in my town was held here. It's a nice place with spacious hall, corridor, and outdoor spot where a lot of exhibitors could stand a booth there. The inconvenience only came from the lack of public transportation to go there. It doesn't mean that there were none of them. Even though it's just a small number of them, we need to wait for a long time so we could get into our destination. (And God knows how you hate when people played with time.) I would be really jittery if I got myself late or if my schedule had a scratch even a slightest. I AM a BUSY Person, after all. (Too busy, if I may.) It's not helping at all. My house is in another part of the town. I need at least 30 minutes to reach the first stop. If I need to wait for another 30 minutes when the mini-bus finally left plus another 10 minutes on the way, I would reach the place at least more than an hour. I can't sit still for that long or I will start sleeping. (Well, you know the saying that "You shouldn't sleep in the subway". In our case, any public transportation. You will get mugged. Unless you have power like superheroes and start noticing the strange auras around you.) Urgh, anyway... It's really irritating. And don't get me start about getting a taxi.
There's not so much things to tell you about the "Game Exhibition" part because I attend the event on the weekend, 2 days only. I didn't know if I were the one who slacked or not paid too much attention to the event. What I'd seen was almost all of the games were PC console's games. There were not too much booths there, made the whole place looked so empty. And the most important thing that lacked in here was the Enthusiastic. Even though there were so many visitors, it wasn't change the atmosphere and it was almost drove me to boredom just stood around doing nothing.
What I imagined how it would be in the exhibition was like coming to E3 or TGS. Well, that was a really high expectation and an excessive standard. But, hey! How was it my fault that I lived only by watching the other country made a fantastic show? I never had any chance to go to the capital city to experience them myself. So, I spent my best of time to attend as I could whenever there were Pop-Culture Show in my town. And sometimes it's not too much for me.
My expectation for this game show actually not so much. I just really hoped that they, at least, would show some of the Eigth Generation of video game consoles and some of their newer games. We knew that some of them already got into Indonesia's market, namely Wii U, Playstation Vita or Nintendo 3DS. If it would not too much, they could even had a talk show about particular consoles or games. One of the business partner of this show could give their opinion about how the games would change in next generation or how's the games industry would have a significant progression for the last two generation. I know that maybe this was the first big Game Exhibition ever in my town. And I admit it's a really brave moves to get advance like this. So, I will give another point. (They already did their best, you know. They did have an open talk show with the guest. And do I need to remind you that you were only there for 2 days? They maybe had those talk shows and some games introduction when you weren't attending the event. You'll never know, right? And I bet, you wouldn't even going if your friends didn't shout at your head about it. Heh... Sometimes I wonder how are you still alive with all of the distraction implied in every moves you have in your life.) ...Do you know that you always have the best reason to put me down or even higher position? (That I DO best. [smirking]) Well, I admit you have some point there. They did had those free play feature, too. I actually considered this show was a Job Well Done!, after all. So, no need to criticize any further.
Ok, move on. Let's talk about the competition. There were four types of competition. First, Game Tournament, of course. Second, Cosplay Competition. Third, Dance Competition. And Fourth, Photography Contest. The Games Tournament included the game of Defense of The Ancients / DotA 2, Point Blank / PB, League of Legends / LoL, Pro Evolution Soccer / PES 2013, and Tekken. There wasn't any from Lytogame. I didn't actively play any of the game that was competed. I was more into MMORPG. So, it made me a little bit of disappointed.
The organizer specifically made a square for all the gamers who want to compete so they wouldn't get too much distracted by another visitors. (But, considering the amount of visitors, the noise, and stuffy atmosphere, I thought it was distracting enough for them.) That's true. They called the square as The WARZONE.
That photo was taken at the last day. I didn't really pay attention why there were this long line of people and what they were queuing for. But, looked at where they formed the line, it must be about some free mini-game-contests or just another free play. (What a gate... [facepalmed])
And that was how the inside of the square. It's spacious, right? (The tiny divider didn't really help and got into their purposes. But, at least they kept another visitors who wasn't the competitor to enter the square, if only for a sign. Oh, God Bless those visitors who knew to not bothering people inside.)
Hmm... Next was the Dance Competition. There wasn't much to say about this. I didn't attend any of the performance because it was held on Thursday and Friday. So, I'll skip them out. I don't know much about the Photography Contest, too, besides they were fought over the best photos taken at the sites. I'll skip them, too. (So, will you now talk about the Cosplay Competition, then? I know you are one of those fangirls who like cosplay very much. But, instead of you do the cosplay, you always like another people who did it.) Oh, you know. I actually kind of distracted when the whole competition started. I watched the whole performance but actually forgot to take any pictures. Hehe... Forgive me? (What? Can you repeat that again? Distracted? Oh, you are so useless, Aeri. Where the hell you put your attention at?) Umm... The cosplayers or the guests / the juries maybe? I'm not really sure. I kinda forgot about that. [smile innocently]. (What kind of reason was that?! [sighing heavily]. So, what next? You will skipped it, too?) Oh, well, yes, no... I don't know. I actually got many photos of those cosplayers. And I even got to interview the guests. But, I think I want to make another session of that interview and focus with the whole event in this post. So, I will just upload some of the photos here, then you can put your opinion for them, and later I will made those special post about the interviews. Alright? (Huftt... I could careless about it after you'd done it for God knows how much already. And I don't know how many times I have to say this but, JUST GET ON WITH IT!..)
Oh, alright. I think Crysta's going crazy. So I'll let her in the corner for now.
Now, onto the next point, the Local Communities. The communities were Cosplayer Makassar Suki / CoMaSu, it's a local cosplay community, Perkumpulan Fotografer Makassar / PerForMa, it's a local photography community, Pertamaks Community, it's a community for toys collector, Makassar JapanHolics Community, it's a community for the lovers of all Japan thingy, DotA 2 Makassar, it's a local community for DotA 2 players, Makassar Otaku [Anime Manga Suki], it's a local community for anime lovers, Makassar TCG, it's a local community for Trading Card Game / TCG players, Makassar Game Developer, it's obviously a local community for game developers, and last the last was Shinseki48 Makassar, it's a local fans club of AKB48 & Their "Sisters", if you read the last post about Idol Group, they were the one we met on the booth. Actually, there were more communities, but I couldn't help myself to remember everything. And I just mentioned all the communities that was noted in the latest advertisement.
Next... We got the Guests. All of them was came from Jakarta. First was Honeybeat. It was a rising band with the genre of Japanese Jazz and Rock kind of music. They actually have so much fans here in my town, though I just barely know about them. Second guest was coming from Nixiagamer.com. What are they? It's a website about Nixia. Who is Nixia? A popular female gamer. Anything else to add? I honestly don't really know. The last guest was Pinky Lu Xun & Daikon Sky. They are cosplayer. They were the judges of the Cosplay Competition. They are really friendly and was a good judges. After the competition, there was an open talk show session about cosplay with them. It was interesting enough, even though the time was limited.
At the last day, Daikon Sky had a performance about Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. It's really cool! Knowing them had reach the World Cosplay Summit / WCS 2013, that was a brilliant achievement for every cosplayer in Indonesia. Well, I would talk about them in the later post.

Finally, we got into the selected photos. These photos was taken at Saturday, the Day 5 and 6 of the event. Crysta! Are you done moping over there? I'm on my way to show the photos. Don't you want to comment at all? (I'm going to comment if I need to. Or maybe another time. I'm not in the mood. If I have time later, I'll just update the post with my comment. So, just put the photos for now.) Ok, then... Here we go...
Well, those photos taken at Day 5. There were a lot more at the last days. Here they are...
Huffttt... That's all the selected photos. Crazy moments, yeah... It's really cool to be a cosplayer, you know. I used to that before, but not anymore. (You don't have any wish to cosplay again?) After everything I went through in the past? I doubt it. But, who knows what will happen in the future. Maybe I'm going to, maybe not. (You are such an indecisive little fussy. Do not be a half-ass stupid person. If you want to be an idiot, do it whole heartedly.) Do you need to be that harsh, Crysta? (Oh, you know it really well to be like that in front of me. I don't like slow, indecisive, and incompetent people. They are such a nuisance. I need to get everything done perfectly for me. That's why I need a lot more time and space to do anything.) Then, why do you put up with me. I'm all you said above. (Are you really? If it's a yes, this blog wouldn't exist. You need to raise your confidence a bit. We actually have more things in common, if you look deeper.) Well, if you put it that way, we are actually the same. I don't like slow and incompetent people, too. But, everyone have their own worth value. And you need to be more friendly. Not everyone can stay put with a stuck up people like you. (Now, you sound like insulting me. I always know that. I don't need to be told by you. I behave like this for a reason. And that will always be my "dirty little secret". [insert smug face]. You are always a hypocrite, Crysta.
Oh, almost forget one thing. There was a local community for Paper Replica Maker & Collector, too. I snapped some of their works. It's really cool, I admit...
So, that's all for this post. Oh, really. It took some time to write all of this. (And some fighting about what should be said or upload and what should not.) Next, I will post about the interview session with Daikon Sky as they performed the Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. We will talk more about the games side rather than the cosplay side. It would help us to make a good speculation of the future version of Kingdom Hearts Series. So, stay tune, guys...
(So, next post you will get the front again?) Hmm... I don't think so. If you want to, you can always do that. Just wait for the script later so you can decide. (Yeah, yeah... I need to make another script for future post, too. Do you realize that we need to make a Bridge soon?) Oh, I almost forget about that. Don't worry. I'll always at your back. (So, this is the only event you attend, then? Considering you disappeared for a long time. I thought you have more.) No. I actually still have another event. But, it'll take a time to write about that. Not to mention your future reference of Marvel and E3 2014 coming really soon make my head gonna burst. (You just need to focus for one thing at a time. I will try to cover the Marvel and E3 2014 while you got yourself stuff with the last event. I'll need your help when writing about E3, though. It'll be a detail review like this.) Alright, then. You can count on me. How about Marvel? (I already made some of the script a while back. I'm not planning to go Marvel crazy anytime soon. You can relax. I wouldn't do it without you, after all. I would just make a simple review about them.) Hmm... That's nice plan, then.
So, guys... You heard that? We will try to make our post more interesting every time. I hope you wouldn't get bored with a real long post like this one. Because you'll find it more later. Thanks for reading and see you next post... Aeri (and Crysta) signed out for now...
